What does it take to become a journalist?

i took a career evaluation test on some website, and it told me i would be best suited to journalism. what are some of the requirements to get a job in journalism? How much college? What are some of the different types of jobs within journalism. anything you know will be helpful. i need to write a paper on this, and its always good to have all of the info you can.
