What does an employer want to hear when they ask ';What's your ultimate goal?';?

I have an interview coming up, and it's not my dream job, but it's in a competitive field and I would be glad to have it.

If I lie and tell them what they want to hear: ';My ultimate goal is to work here and do whatever this job demands of me'; I look like a liar and a brown-noser with no spine, which is true.

If I tell them the truth: ';My goal is to use this job to save up as much money as I can to reach my ultimate goal'; then I appear uncommitted and unworthy of hiring, which is true.

But I still want to be hired because I need to pay bills and it's better than most jobs. What do I do?
